Cuttack-A lifted the Sumit Bose Memorial Trophy when they emerged champions in the Under-16 Boys Inter-District Cricket Tournament, defeating Bhubaneswar-A by 73 runs in the final at Sunshine ground here today.
Electing to bat, Cuttack-A rode on a 107-ball knock of 70 by Saideep Mohapatra to muster a competitive total of 177 for nine in the stipulated 45 overs. Sai Subham was most successful bowler for Bhubaneswar-A, taking two wickets for 24 runs.
In reply, Bhubaneswar-A folded up for 104 despite a valiant half-century by Ashutosh Sahoo. Jagdish Ghadei, BLS Bajrangi and Pratyush Das picked up two wickets each for Cuttack-A. Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) Working Committee Chairman Dhiren Pallai presented the trophy in the closing ceremony.
